Your Questions, Answered.
What is the RCMP Attribute Evaluation Interview?
The RCMP Attribute Evaluation (AE) Interview is a competency-based interview designed to assess the personal qualities and behaviours required of an RCMP police officer. Applicants answer behavioural questions using examples from their past experiences to demonstrate essential policing competencies.
What are the five essential RCMP interview competencies?
Does the RCMP use the STAR method for competency-based interviews?
Yes. The RCMP recommends the STAR method for answering behavioural questions in its Attribute Evaluation Interview.
STAR stands for Situation, Task, Action and Result. EvalTick helps you structure your real-life examples using STAR and provides targeted feedback to strengthen your responses.
What is the difference between the RCMP Attribute Evaluation Interview and Suitability Interview?
The Attribute Evaluation Interview focuses on assessing essential competencies through behavioural questions.
The later RCMP Suitability Interview examines an applicant’s overall suitability, including behavioural qualities, personal history and information disclosed in the Regular Member Applicant Questionnaire (RMAQ).
EvalTick focuses on developing competency-based interview responses. It does not replace preparation for personal disclosure, integrity questions or background screening.
How does EvalTick help me prepare for RCMP interview competencies?
EvalTick allows you to practise competency-based questions using your own experiences and words.
Your responses receive structured evaluation and targeted feedback, helping you improve your STAR structure, demonstrate stronger competency evidence and communicate your actions and results more effectively.
Are the RCMP essential competencies preloaded into EvalTick?
EvalTick supports an RCMP-focused competency package based on the five published essential competencies assessed during the Attribute Evaluation Interview.
These competencies provide relevant practice opportunities, while all responses are evaluated using EvalTick’s own proprietary assessment rubrics rather than the RCMP’s official scoring system.
Does EvalTick write my RCMP interview examples for me?
No. EvalTick is designed to help you develop authentic examples from your own experiences.
It provides guidance on identifying relevant evidence, organizing your responses using STAR and strengthening how you demonstrate the required competencies. Your experiences and answers remain your own.
How does EvalTick evaluate my RCMP interview responses?
EvalTick uses proprietary Behaviourally Anchored Rating Scales (BARS) developed, tested and internally validated by experienced law-enforcement recruitment specialists.
Each response is assessed against ten predefined scoring dimensions. AI supports the interaction and feedback process, but evaluation is governed by EvalTick’s established rubrics and assessment criteria.
Can I practise RCMP interview questions more than once?
Yes. You can practise using voice or text, review your feedback and repeat your responses throughout your access period.
EvalTick records your attempts and displays progress graphs, allowing you to compare scores and identify areas where your STAR structure and competency evidence can improve.
Ready to strengthen your inteview competencies?
Practise anytime. Use your own words. Track your progress.
